Overview

ESG. Supply Chains. Procurement.

Excel your expertise on supply chain and procurement issues through an ESG lens. Join Marion O'Donnell as she will outline the essentials in this new IoD workshop.

This workshop is designed to equip directors with the knowledge of the ESG-related risks that may impact a company’s supply chain. It will also address how sustainability factors can be effectively built into procurement practices, and have a positive impact on a company’s financial health and overall reputation.

This workshop has been designed for:

  • Experienced directors and senior executives in all sectors, including public sector bodies, SMEs, as well as larger organisations.
  • Function heads such as CFOs, CPO, COO, and Sustainability leads.
  • This workshop may also be of interest to previous attendees of the IoD Fundamentals of ESG for Directors Short Programme. It will help build their knowledge and deepen their understanding of ESG.

Attendees will gain the following from joining this workshop:

  • Understand what oversight is required of the Board to ensure ESG is embedded in procurement practices.
  • Learn how to identify the risks of an unsustainable supply chain, broken down into environmental and social risks.
  • Develop how to illustrate best practices, policies and frameworks that can lead to an effective and sustainable procurement programme (such as risk assessments, strong stakeholder relationships, audit practices, and enhancing traceability past tier 1 suppliers).
  • Lean how to identify upcoming and existent regulations that will compel companies to focus on the ESG elements of their procurement practices and increase the transparency of their supply chain (e.g. CSRD and CSDDD).
