What people are saying
“A very helpful and worthwhile workshop by the IoD. Directors need to keep learning, trying and continuously improving to achieve best practice in the interests of our charities. Great insights, tips and nuggets of info were given by the participants as well as the presenter.”
Carol Fawsitt, Solicitor (retired), Chair of The Ark and Co-Founder Silent Voices
“This is a very useful workshop for anyone already holding charity board roles or those considering bringing their skills and experience to add value to this sector. The content, format, and presentation provides a great learning environment and encourages open discussion and sharing of experience among participants.”
Jillian Mahon Independent Consultant/Advisor and Board Director
“This course is an essential for those who are, or may be considering becoming, a Trustee of a charity. It provides great insights into the roles, responsibilities and challenges of a Trustee and provides a toolkit to develop and promote great governance in any organisation.”
Paul Owens Chair City Of Dublin YMCA
“I thought that this workshop was an excellent use of my time, it was well delivered, addressing key issues which most boards will inevitably have to tackle. It highlighted core principles, some practical and ethical dilemmas, and provided a safe environment to tease out any areas of concern. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who's role includes supporting a Board of Trustees, or anyone who is already on a board or considering joining aboard.”
David Hickson, Financial Controller, Community Foundation Ireland
“I undertook the workshop Leadership & Governance for Charities in Ireland to support my work as a trustee on music based charities in Ireland. The course covered all the key responsibilities of a Trustee, with Marie drawing upon her extensive experience to introduce real life examples to underpin the learning in an engaging manner. A very enjoyable day. Highly recommended."
Harry Martin, Director, Domino Music Group Ltd
