Introducing Kevin McConnell CFA
Over a career spanning over 30 years in capital markets, Kevin has worked extensively as an investment and banking industry expert, advising on Capital, Credit Risk and Strategy. His work covers credit due diligence, stress testing, capital adequacy, and asset quality both as a consultant in the industry and providing academic programs in the banking sector and regulatory system through his association with a range of universities. He works predominately with European and emerging market based banks and regulators, advising on the development and testing of capital resilience across differing economic and capital market scenarios, credit, and IFRS9.
Kevin has worked in a range of senior roles in capital markets which have helped him develop a deep knowledge of both the investment and banking industry, and a critical understanding of market behaviour and its impact on the risk/return relationship for investments in the funds/asset management and banking industry. He has also acted on behalf of a range of international investment groups, most lately in the private equity area, in sourcing and constructing transactions across the banking and investment industries.
Kevin has presented at European Central Bank and European Bank Authority and has delivered expert programs to European and Middle Eastern based regulators on bank capital, credit and IFRS9. He was a member of Committee on Collective Investment Governance (CCIG) of Central Bank of Ireland which supported the development of CP86 for the Irish Funds industry in 2014/2015. He was a member of the Advisory Committee of the Certified Investment Fund Director Institute for seven years, delivering programs in investment management to board directors, and is a Senior Associate of Faculty, Institute of Banking (IOB) Executive Education- Certified Bank Director Program since 2012.
He designed and delivers the Structured Finance/Credit program for the Msc in Finance in Michael Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin, the Graduate Diploma in Alternative Investment for the Institute of Banking (IOB-UCD), and Asset Management on the Msc. in Finance, Trinity College Dublin (TCD) for over a decade. Kevin has also delivered programmes on bank capital, investments and credit, in association with the IOB and Cambridge University. Kevin is a CFA Charterholder since 2004.
Kevin is a Board Director for one of the largest Collateralised Loan Obligation (CLO) originators in Europe and is Chief Executive of GEM Strategic, a specialist bank & asset management consultancy firm, which provides economic/investment advisory services to the international financial services sector.

After this date, no refund will be possible, and all fees will be forfeited in the event of a cancellation or non-attendance.
