The Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate project culminated in an exhibition showcasing the insights and learnings learnt through the project at the end of last year. The exhibition showcased the dynamic and creative solutions that Chartered Directors (from Ireland) and students (from NCAD and IADT) believe can address complex climate challenges. Over the course of 2024, the project held five sessions focuisng on the themes of Discover, Define, Design, Deliver and Co-Design. With insights from a panel of keynote speakers, Chartered Directors and students alike worked in four core system teams (textiles, food, mobility and built environment) to design solutions that could be implemented to offset the impacts of climate change in Irish society.
On 21st November 2024, the outcomes of this project were lauched and put on display in the NCAD Gallery for the wider Chartered Director community, students of IADT and NCAD, and the wider public. Key highlights of the exhibition included exhibits on the following areas:
- Ireland's Climate Crisis: How are we doing on a comparative global scale?
- Emboldening Creative Climate Champions: The intergenerational journey
- Disruptors and innovators: The student journey
- Tackling the climate in the boardroom: The director journey
- The North, South journey
IoD Ireland was delighted to be one of the partners in this project, alongside the Creative Futures Academy, and the Institute of Directors in Northern Ireland. Funded through Creative Ireland's Climate Action & Shared Island fund.
