Join us for this Briefing webinar with Chris MM Gordon, CEO of the Irish Social Enterprise Network (Socent.ie), on Thursday, 23rd November. In this webinar, Chris will explain what social enterprises are doing about ‘social’ and what you can do as a director in your own companies.
Chris will also cover what role social enterprises play in the economy, how mainstream businesses can be more aware of their social obligations and how businesses can be better to their workers, customers, communities, and wider society.

CEO, Irish Social Enterprise Network
Chris MM Gordon is the CEO of the Irish Social Enterprise Network (Socent.ie), National Body for Social Enterprise in Ireland. Chris is also Managing Partner of Collaboration Ireland and an Adjunct Teaching Fellow of Trinity Business School. Chris also volunteers as Chair of EnergyCloud Foundation and Far and Wild social enterprise and is President of the Ireland US Alumni Association.
Through the Irish Social Enterprise Network, Chris represents the interests of prestart-up, start-up and established social enterprises. The Network runs the BuySocial.ie website, Ireland’s directory of trading social enterprises.
Chris is trained as a Climate Reality Leader and is a qualified Erickson Coach. Chris has also completed a Diploma of Company Direction with the Institute of Directors Ireland. Chris’ passion is in outdoor facilitation, youth work, social inclusion and community development.
Chris has a degree in Theoretical Physics from Queen’s University Belfast, a Masters in Business from the University of Ulster and has qualifications from the Institute of Banking, LIA and UCD.
This event fits under the Technical Knowledge and Skills Dimension of the IoD Ireland Continuing Professional Development Framework for Directors. It is eligible for 1 hour of Chartered Director CPD. This session may also be eligible for other professional body CPD, please check with your relevant professional body.
