Overview
Climate governance and board responsibility
Advance your understanding of climate governance and sustainability. This Briefing will address the E in ESG with a particular focus on the duties and responsibilities of the board. The event will include a panel of experts sharing their insights and views, including a look at tips on how best to create a strategy to become more carbon-neutral in the future.

Dr. Lisa Koep Chief ESG Officer, Tirlán
Lisa is responsible for driving the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) targets and ambitions outlined in the organisation’s comprehensive sustainability strategy, Living Proof. In this role, her areas of responsibility also includes Corporate Affairs. Born in Germany, Lisa came to Ireland in 2000 to study economics and geography at Trinity College, with a specialisation in resource economics and sustainable development. After many years working in senior retail sector roles with Lidl in Ireland, she returned to university to complete a PhD in Business, specialising in CSR Communication. Prior to joining Tirlán, Lisa’s most recent role was Head of CSR/Sustainability for Lidl in Germany. Lisa also previously worked as a lecturer and researcher at the Technological University Dublin and the Technische Universitaet Dresden.
Barry Gavin Non-Executive Director
Barry Gavin is a qualified accountant and full-time Independent Non-Executive Director. He has over 30 years executive experience in a range of sectors including Energy, Property, Healthcare, Fintech, Pensions, Leisure and Automotive. Barry is on the board of An Post, a member of the ARC and is Chair of the People and Sustainability Committee. He is the Chair of Future Energy Ireland, an INED on the Board of the City of Dublin Energy Management Agency (CODEMA), an INED with the Arjun Investment Clean Energy Fund and the Chair of the Shannon Chamber Sustainability Forum. Barry is also an adjunct lecturer in the UCD Smurfit Business School (Banking & Finance).
Niamh O’Gorman Sustainability Lead, Accenture Ireland
Niamh is Sustainability Lead for Accenture Ireland with responsibility for shaping and delivering Accenture’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, as well as supporting Accenture’s clients in the delivery of their ESG commitments. Previously Niamh was Head of Finance and Risk within Accenture’s Financial Services practice in Ireland. She is a business leader with a strong commercial acumen and a wide range of banking experience through over 20 years of working with senior executive clients for Irish and multinational organisations.
